California Court of Appeal

People v. Patton, 074344

Affirmed. Defendant plead guilty to grand theft and was sentenced to three years of probation. One of the conditions to probation was that his electronic devices were subject to a warrantless search. Defendant challenged this condition as unreasonable and unconstitutionally overbroad. The appeals court rejected Defendant’s arguments, finding the electronic device search condition reasonable and not unconstitutionally overbroad.
