California Court of Appeal

Held that California officials unlawfully diverted $330 million to the state's General Fund from the National Mortgage Settlement Deposit Fund (a fund created from the settlement of California's lawsuit against large mortgage servicers in the wake of the subprime mortgage crisis that began in 2007). Reversed and remanded in relevant part, after transfer from the California Supreme Court.
