California Court of Appeal

Boyer v. Ventura County, 289919

Held that it is constitutional to require a person to have law enforcement experience in order to run for county sheriff. The plaintiff wanted to be on the ballot for sheriff despite having never worked in law enforcement, but the California Court of Appeal concluded that the California Government Code could constitutionally impose an experience requirement.
