California Court of Appeal

Reversed a former U.S. Postal Service employee's conviction of fraudulently obtaining workers' compensation benefits. The California insurance fraud statute under which he was convicted did not apply here because he was a federal employee and his workers' compensation benefits were governed by federal law. The prosecution conceded the error.
