Guerrero v. California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, 147507

Held that a Mexico-born man who aspired to be a California correctional officer could proceed with his discriminatory failure-to-hire lawsuit in state court. Claim preclusion did not apply here because jurisdictional limitations in his prior successful federal suit blocked him from requesting damages relief. Reversed and remanded.
