California Court of Appeal

Quiles v. Parent, 054353

Affirmed an award of attorney fees and costs to a plaintiff who alleged that she was fired from her job in retaliation for filing a lawsuit over wages and hours. On what the court said was an issue of first impression, held that federal law applies to the determination of what type of costs are recoverable by a prevailing party in a Fair Labor Standards Act lawsuit filed in state court.
