California Court of Appeal
People v. Eastman, 044458
Affirmed a trial court order requiring the defendant to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life. The defendant, who pleaded guilty to several misdemeanors for repeatedly using his cellphone to make "upskirt" videos of women in public places and surreptitiously videoing women in two residences' bathrooms, appealed the lifetime sex offender registration order. The California Sixth Appellate District rejected his argument that his sex offender registration should last only for the period of his probation.
