Held that a farming business was not liable for failing to pay agricultural employees who worked on a piece-rate basis for certain rest and recovery periods and other nonproductive time on the job. The business argued that it was immune from the employees' claims for periods prior to July 1, 2012, because it had complied with a statutory safe-harbor provision by making certain payment to the employees covering 2012 through 2015. The Sixth Appellate District agreed and held that the superior court should have granted the business's motion for summary adjudication.
