California Court of Appeal
People v. Williams, 044771
Affirmed a conviction for the offense of obstructing a police officer in the lawful performance of his or her duties. The defendant, who willfully stood between his friend and an officer while the officer was writing a citation to his friend, argued that his conviction must be reversed because officers subsequently used excessive force in arresting him. Rejecting his argument, the Sixth Appellate District affirmed the conviction for obstructing an officer.
