Jaime G. v. H.L., 280569

Reversed a child custody order that awarded joint custody to a father who was a domestic abuser. On appeal, the mother argued that the family court failed to make specific findings on each of the seven statutory factors that California requires family courts to evaluate in domestic-abuse situations, including whether the perpetrator has successfully completed a batterer's treatment program. Agreeing, the Second Appellate District reversed and remanded for the trial court to make specific findings on the seven factors.
