California Court of Appeal

Candelore v. Tinder, Inc., 270172

Reversing the trial court's sustaining of a demurrer by Tinder because their determination that the Unruh Civil Rights Act and Unfair Competition Law did not prevent Tinder from charging a higher price of over-30 users because they tended to have more money to spend on such a service was in error. Arbitrary class-based generalizations about incomes was not a strong public policy justifying discriminatory pricing.
