California Court of Appeal

In re S.N., 081228

In a family law action, the juvenile court's order awarding custody of child to father is affirmed where: 1) the court failed to obtain a valid waiver of defendant mother's right to a contested jurisdictional hearing when it advised her of her right at the prior detention hearing and not at the jurisdictional hearing; but 2) the error was harmless in light of overwhelming evidence establishing the court's jurisdiction.
