In a personal injury action in which defendant's settlement offer was rejected by plaintiff, who then obtained a judgment against defendant, the trial court's denial of defendant's motion to tax plaintiff's costs and obtain her own costs, pursuant to Code of Civil Procedure section 998, is affirmed where the release defendant submitted to plaintiff as part of her settlement offer sought to release defendant and others from claims outside the scope of the current personal injury action, and rendered the offer invalid under section 998.
