Commitment to a mental hospital as a sexually violent predator (SVP), under the Sexually Violent Predators Act, Welfare and Institutions Code section 6600 et seq., is remanded. The court found merit in defendant's equal protection claim that a person found to be an SVP cannot be compelled to testify at hearings to extend his or her commitment when a person found not guilty of crimes by reason of insanity cannot be so compelled to testify, and remanded the case for an evidentiary hearing on the issue.
