In a civil procedure action, arising from a petition for a workplace violence restraining order under Code of Civil Procedure section 527.8, the trial court's denial of defendant's motion to quash, on grounds that he made a general appearance by participating in litigation beyond filing his motion to quash, is reversed where Code of Civil Procedure section 418.10 permits a party who moves to quash to participate in litigation concurrently or after filing the motion without having his actions constitute a general appearance, unless and until the motion is decided adversely to the party.
