California Court of Appeal
People v. Cardona, 261458
Convictions of murder and attempted murder arising from an incident at a party during which defendant shot two people are: 1) affirmed in part as to the murder charge, where the trial court properly instructed the jury regarding the limitations to the right of self-defense available to a defendant who was the initial aggressor in the confrontation with the victim; and 2) reversed in part as to the attempted murder charge where the trial court erred by giving the jury a "kill zone" instruction.
