In a petition for writ of mandate brought by a Sheriff's association challenging a County's creation of the 'sheriff's security officers,' a new classification for employees providing court perimeter security and placement of this new classification in a general bargaining unit rather than the County's law-enforcement bargaining unit, alleging that the County did not provide advance notice of the creation of the new classification and violated its duty to meet and confer, the trial court's order in favor of County is: 1) reversed as to the County's deletion of the vacant law-enforcement bargaining unit positions; but 2) affirmed in all other respects.
