California Court of Appeal

In re Natalie A., 261303

In a father's appeal of a juvenile court's jurisdictional finding and dispositional order in the dependency case of his three children, the court's orders are: 1) affirmed where father’s admitted use of marijuana, his failure to ensure his very young children were adequately supervised, and his absent drug tests all constituted sufficient evidence to support both the jurisdictional finding and the dispositional order; but 2) reversed as to findings regarding the Indian Child Welfare Act's (ICWA) where he provided sufficient information of possible Indian heritage to trigger the ICWA notice provisions.
