People v. Dokins, B250572

Sentence and conviction of first degree murder, Pen. Code section 187, is: 1) affirmed as to judgment of conviction over defendant's claims of insufficiency of the evidence, due process violations, jury bias, judge bias, and evidentiary admission errors; but 2) reversed as to the sentence where the court failed to consider the factors identified in Miller v. Alabama, 132 S.Ct. 2455 (2012), before imposing on the juvenile defendant a sentence that is the functional equivalent of life without parole.
