Conviction by court trial of failing to reregister as a Penal Code section 290 registrant is affirmed over defendant's claims that he could not be convicted of failing to reregister due to the failure to give the notice required by section 290.017, where: 1) section 290.017 does requires notification upon each release; and 2) the requirement is directory rather than mandatory and therefore did not provide a defense to defendant.
