California Court of Appeal
Crofoot v. Harris, B258365
In a petition for writ of mandate brought by petitioner whose State of Washington sex offender registration status terminated after ten years, alleging he is not subject to sex offender registration in California, which requires lifetime registration, denial of petition is affirmed where: 1) petitioner is required to register as a sex offender in California based upon his Washington conviction of communicating with a child for "immoral purposes of a sexual nature," Rev. Code Wash. section 9.68A.090; 2) the full faith and credit clause does not require California to terminate this state's lifetime registration requirement for petitioner; and 3) petitioner's equal protection claim was forfeited for this appeal and is not ripe.
