Judicial Council v. Jacobs Facilities, A140890
In a suit brought by Judicial Council of California, Administrative Office of the Courts arising out of a facilities contract which required defendant to be licensed pursuant to the Contractors' State License Law (CSLL), Bus. & Prof. Code section 7000 et seq., when it commenced work, the trial court's judgment and attorney fee award entered on the jury's verdict to defendants is reversed where defendant violated the CSLL when it continued to act as the contracting party after its contractor's license expired. The case is remanded for a hearing on the issue of substantial compliance, pursuant to section 7031(e).
