California Court of Appeal

People v. Rivas, C072621

Conviction for aggravated mayhem, Pen. Code section 205, assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury, section 245(a)(1)), and active participation in a criminal street gang, section 186.22(a), is affirmed, where there is no merit in defendant's contention that the trial court committed prejudicial error by admitting fingerprint evidence even though, according to him, the scientific community has rejected the reliability of fingerprint evidence.
