California Court of Appeal
Keep Our Mountains Quiet v. County of Santa Clara, H039707
In a case concerning the County's grant of a use permit to allow property in the Santa Cruz mountains to be used to host a limited number of weddings and other events, the trial court's issuance of a writ of mandate, on the ground that the County violated the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) in adopting the mitigated negative declaration instead of requiring an environmental impact report, is affirmed where there is substantial evidence to support a fair argument that the project may have a significant impact on the environment.
