California Court of Appeal

County of L.A. Bd. Of Supervisors v. Super. Ct., B257230

In a writ proceeding to determine whether billing invoices sent by an attorney to a client must be disclosed pursuant to the California Public Records Act (CPRA) or whether they are protected by the attorney-client privilege, the petition is granted where: 1) the CPRA expressly exempts attorney-client privileged communications from its reach; and 2) the invoices are confidential communications within the meaning of Evidence Code section 952 and are thus exempt from public disclosure under Government Code section 6254(k).
