California Court of Appeal
People v. Ford, People v. Ford
Defendant appeals from a conviction of first degree murder, contending that the trial court erred in admitting certain prosecution evidence arising from the autopsy. The judgment is affirmed, where: 1) the People sufficiently established chain of custody over the autopsy specimens; and 2) the admission of the autopsy report and the labels and writings on the autopsy specimens, including related testimony arising from this evidence, did not violate defendant's confrontation clause rights, as neither the expert basis evidence contained in the autopsy report nor the autopsy specimen labels and writings were testimonial.
