California Court of Appeal

In re R.T., B256411

In this case, R.T., a teenager, repeatedly runs away form home, placing herself and her infant daughter at substantial risk of serious physical harm, as per Welfare and Institutions Code section 300(b)(1). R.T.'s mother was unable to adequately supervise or protect R.T. The juvenile court's decision asserting dependency jurisdiction over R.T. is affirmed, where, when a child faces a substantial risk of serious physical harm, a parent's inability to supervise or protect a child is enough by itself to invoke the juvenile court's dependency jurisdiction.
