California Court of Appeal

I-CA Enterprises, Inc. v. Palram Americas, Inc., B243362

A jury found for plaintiff on its claims of tortious interference with contractual relations against defendants, and granted compensatory damages. The trial court granted a judgment notwithstanding the verdict on the issue of punitive damages as to defendant Palram and a nonsuit on the issue of punitive damages as to defendant Plasgad. Plaintiff challenges the separate compensatory damages award against each defendant, contending that it was entitled to a finding of joint and several liability against both defendants. Plaintiff further challenges the punitive damages decisions of the trial court, and the prevailing party determination as between plaintiff and Plasgad. The judgment is affirmed, where the trial court did not abuse its discretion and there was no error in the trial court's judgment.
