California Court of Appeal

Grenier v. Taylor, F067263

Denial of defendant's motion to strike the plaintiff's complaint for defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress as a strategic lawsuit against public participation under Code of Civil Procedure section 425.16 is affirmed, where: 1) the trial court correctly concluded that the alleged defamatory statements concerned an issue of public interest; but 2) plaintiff Bob Grenier is not a limited purpose public figure; and 3) plaintiffs demonstrated a probability of prevailing on their claims.
