In this case, plaintiff, the biological father of Baby Boy W., seeks to block the adoption of his child. Judgment in plaintiff’s favor, thereby halting defendants’ adoption of Baby Boy W., is affirmed, where: 1) plaintiff established his paternity rights under Adoption of Kelsey S. by promptly coming forward and demonstrating a full commitment to his parental responsibilities; and 2) the emotional considerations for defendants, who have had custody of Baby Boy W. since the day after his birth, do not override plaintiff’s constitutional right to establish a parental relationship.
