California Court of Appeal

People v. Dawkins, B245611

In this burglary action, defendant contends that the audio recording of a 9-1-1 call made by an anonymous caller to report the burglary in progress was inadmissible in evidence as it was not properly authenticated. Conviction and sentence of defendant for first degree burglary is affirmed, where Deputy Jimenez's testimony about the computer system's operation and his downloading of computer data was sufficient, in combination with the content of the recording, to establish that the recording was genuine and that it was what the prosecution claimed it was.
