St. Croix v. Superior Court, A140308

In an action brought under the California Public Records Act (CPRA) to obtain documents pertaining to the development of certain commission regulations from the executive director of the San Francisco Ethics Commission, the trial court erred in ordering the disclosure of 24 written communications between the commission and the City Attorney's Office, which the director claimed were protected by the attorney-client privilege, where the City Charter incorporates the state law attorney-client privilege and supersedes the contrary ordinance provision.
