The trial court's grant of plaintiff's special motion to strike defendant-employer's cross-complaint for extortion under the anti-SLAPP statute is reversed and remanded, where, after a de novo review of the record, the conduct underlying the cross-complaint, plaintiff's pre-litigation e-mail demand, when considered in the context in which the demand was made, constituted extortion as a matter of law that was not protected under the anti-SLAPP statute.
