California Court of Appeal

In re M.V., A137348

The juvenile court's order dismissing dependency jurisdiction declaring defendant-minor to be a ward of the court, and placing her in out-of-home care is affirmed, where: 1) defendant may not challenge the timeliness of the Welfare and Institutions Code section 241.1 assessment in this appeal; 2) the court’s reasons for its 241.1 determination are amply supported by the record, and its decision to declare the minor a ward of the court was not an abuse of discretion in light of the court's justifiable concern for her safety and the failure of all of her previous dependency placements; and 3) defendant's challenges to the underlying conviction of loitering with the intent to commit prostitution, to which she agreed to plead guilty, all fail.
