The trial court's order denying defendants' anti-SLAPP special motion to strike a writ petition challenging defendants' procedures and approval of a salary package for the General Manager/Chief of Police is: 1) reversed as to the three individual defendants, where petitioners' claim arises out of protected First Amendment voting and legislative deliberative activities concerning an important public issue and there is not a reasonable probability that petitioners' action can succeed; but 2) affirmed as to the Board, where the anti-SLAPP statute does not apply to the allegations raised in the instant petition.
