California Court of Appeal

People v. Steele, C071857

Defendant's convictions on multiple counts related to pandering minors to become prostitutes and pimping are affirmed, where: 1) there was sufficient evidence of abducting victim D.R. for prostitution; 2) there is no reasonable likelihood that the jury would misunderstand the instructions as defendant suggests; 3) the separate punishments on the counts for kidnapping D.R. and human trafficking of D.R. are supported by substantial evidence; and 4) the trial court did not err in refusing to permit discovery of D.R.'s medical records.
