California Court of Appeal

People v. Lewis, A134480

Defendant's conviction and sentence for rape and murder are: 1) reversed in part, where, as a juvenile at the time of his offenses, defendant's 115 years-to-life sentence is unconstitutional and the matter must be remanded for the trial court to determine a parole eligibility date within defendant's expected lifetime, unless it concludes that his offenses reflected such irreparable corruption that it is appropriate to preclude him from the possibility of parole during his lifetime; and 2) affirmed in all other respects.
