Natkin v. California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board, B241949

The trial court properly denied the petition for a writ of mandate and administrative mandate which sought to direct defendant to vacate its decision denying him unemployment benefits for the week ending May 8, 2010, where: 1) under Unemployment Insurance Code sections 1252 and 1279, the wages of a self-employed person or independent contractor include "any and all compensation" that the individual receives in a given week; and 2) the trial court did not err in concluding that petitioner earned wages for the week ending May 8, 2010, and thus was not eligible to receive unemployment benefits for that week.
