Judgment finding defendant to be a sexually violent predator (SVP) and committing him to the Department of Mental Health (DMH) for an indeterminate term following a petition for recommitment under the Sexually Violent Predators Act (SVPA), is affirmed, where: 1) defendant's absence at the trial was harmless beyond a reasonable doubt; and 2) disparate treatment for SVPs is rational.
