Sanchez v. Hitachi Koki, Co., B245050

Summary judgment in favor of defendants, grinder manufacturers, who plaintiff alleged was liable for his personal injuries resulting from plaintiff's use of the grinder with a saw blade manufactured by a third party, is affirmed, where: 1) under O'Neil v. Crane Co., a product manufacturer may not be held strictly liable for harm caused by another manufacturer's product; 2) no exception applies, where the grinder did not contribute substantially to plaintiff's injury, and no evidence shows that defendants specifically designed the grinder to be used in proximity to or in combination with saw blades; and 3) defendants had no duty to warn of risks arising from other manufacturers' products.
