California Court of Appeal
In re V.C., C071156
The juvenile court properly denied defendant juvenile's motion to dismiss, where, although the misdemeanor count 1 for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's license was dismissed, this did not deprive the court of jurisdiction over count 2 of driving at an unsafe speed, an infraction, because Welfare and Institutions Codes section 603.5 refers to the state of the pleadings at the time the initial petition is filed in juvenile court.
