Federal Home Loan Bank v. Countrywide Financial Corporation, A135898

The doctrine of res judicata bars plaintiff's claim of control-person liability against defendant, where: 1) plaintiff's voluntary dismissal of its claim against defendant in the prior action was a final judgment on the merits; and 2) the claim plaintiff dismissed in the prior lawsuit is the same cause of action as the claim it asserts against defendant in the current lawsuit.
