California Court of Appeal

People v. Westmoreland, A127394

Convictions for robbery and murder are reversed and remanded, where: 1) defendant's confession was involuntary because it was motivated by an interrogating detective's false assertion that defendant would not receive a life sentence if he admitted to an unpremeditated killing during a robbery, and said admission was not harmless; and 2) admission of the autopsy report did not violate defendant's confrontation rights, as the report was not testimonial.
