California Court of Appeal

People v. Nguyen, G046081

In appeal of conviction of attempted unlawful assault weapon activity and attempted possession of an assault weapon, judgment is affirmed, where: 1) the Assault Weapons Control Act does not preclude conviction for attempted possession or manufacture of an assault weapon, where defendant possessed an AK-47 kit; 2) the evidence is sufficient to support a conviction for attempted manufacture and possession of an assault weapon; and 3) the trial court did not err in admitting evidence that had probative value and supported an inference that defendant harbored an intent to build and possess an AK-47.
