California Court of Appeal

People v. Gonzalez, B236874

Defendant's conviction for first degree murder and a sentence of 80-years-to-life imprisonment are affirmed where: 1) section 1111.5, requiring mandatory corroboration of a jailhouse informant's testimony, does not apply retroactively to defendant; 2) the trial court did not abuse its discretion in admitting gang testimony; 3) the postverdict rulings did not violate defendant's constitutional rights; and 4) the court's minute order should be corrected to reflect the oral pronouncement of judgment.
