California Court of Appeal

People v. Dunbar, G046209

In a defendant's conviction for forgery, trial court's dismissal of 24 felony counts for allegedly falsifying entries into the records of a private business is reversed and remanded, as Penal Code section 471 broadly and unambiguously makes it a crime to forge an entry in "any book of records," and the trial court incorrectly construed the statute as applying only to the forgery of public records.
