California Court of Appeal
People v. Ellis, F063632
Following defendant's convictions for burglary and unlawfully taking a vehicle, trial court's denial of his request for additional 46 days of conduct credits under the version of Penal Code section 4019 that was in effect at the time of sentencing is affirmed, as the amendment to section 4019, which became operative October 1, 2011, applies only to eligible prisoners whose crimes were committed on or after that date, and such prospective-only application does not run afoul of rule of statutory construction or violate principles of equal protection.
