People v. Villegas, B231177

In a prosecution of a convicted sex offender for failure to file a change of address and for failing to notify the responsible agency of his new address, the conviction and sentence are affirmed as modified to conform to the oral pronouncement of judgment, where: 1) seaprate convictions under subdivisions (a) and (b) of Penal Code section 290.013 were proper, since subdivisions (a) and (b) create separate, albeit closely related, requirements, and each failure of the defendant to register was a separate violation of law; and 2) although multiple punishment was prohibited, the trial court dealt with that issue by staying the sentence on one of the convictions.
