California Court of Appeal

People v. Sokolsky, B212437

Trial court's decision finding defendant a sexually violent predator is affirmed as modified where: 1) there is no constitutional right to self-representation on appeal from an SVPA commitment, and summary denial of his application was not an abuse of discretion; and 2) trial court erred in imposing a two-year term of commitment when the applicable law under section 6604 required imposition of an indeterminate commitment.
