Following jury verdict in favor of plaintiff in her food poisoning claim for injuries suffered from consuming food contaminated with campylobacter, judgment notwithstanding the verdict is reversed and judgment is reinstated where: 1) despite intimations in Minder v. Cielito Lindo Restaurant, 67 Cal.App.3d 1003 (1977), to the contrary, food poisoning cases are governed by the same basic rules of causation that govern other tort cases; and 2) reasonable inferences drawn from substantial evidence are available to show causation.
